Caregiver Program level 1 is a short course providing insight in basic care for ancillary caregivers and auxiliary nurses.

LVA Home Based Caregiver Program Level 2

Level 2 is one part of the qualification in home-based care, accredited by the QCTO.

This occupational certificate in Home Based Personal Care Worker, SAQA Qualification No: 104792 is on a NQF Level 3 with 135 credits.

The qualification duration is over 12 months with minimum admission requirements being a national senior certificate.

If your national senior certificate is incomplete, prior to commencing with this skills program, you will first have to complete a foundational learning competence certificate, as the course is in English.

The training method is blended, theory and practical, online and workplace experience. The course breakdown being 45 credits knowledge, 45 credits practical skills and 45 credits workplace experience.

To achieve the full Home Based Personal Care Worker qualification, you will have to be found competent in HBC Levels 1,2,3,4 with a few required short courses. You will receive certificates on each level and after completing a short course, but the final national statements of results can only be issued after a final external summative assessment.
